Simplify and Save $

Simplifying your life adds value beyond just saving money. And doing things to save money brings simplicity. Here are some things that I do to live simply. And I’d love to hear what you and your family are doing to simplify yours. Click here to email me.

Borrow movies, music and magazines from your local library or swap with friends. This will save you 16 bucks plus in monthly Netflix memberships, hundreds of dollars in amazon purchases and high subscription fees.

Join a Community Garden or CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)
Pay a flat rate for the season, plant seeds, weed and harvest your own fruits, vegetables and herbs. Many CSA’s include not only fruits and vegetables but locally-baked bread, honey and fresh-cut wildflowers. You’ll be amazed at how much money you save in just one month – and you’ll be stunned to see what foods your children start eating. If you are one of those people always saying, “but organic food is too expensive” – join a CSA today!

Stock Up at Your Local Farmer’s Market
Again, if you find yourself complaining about the high cost of organic produce at your local grocer, support your local farmers’ markets, please.

Turn off the Tube
People are shocked when they learn that I don’t own a TV – some even find it unAmerican. As American as it may be, I didn’t find the doom and gloom news or pill ads very entertaining so i turned of the tube and donated it almost a year ago, and I’m still breathing! So, are you shaking at the thought of what you would possibly do without one?
